search engine marketing 101

Unless you're new to online marketing, you know that everything you do online revolves around keywords. Your entire website should be optimized about where your customers are likely to use when they want more information about anything you.

There are many, many full course Available everywhere on the internet to teach you how to choose the best keywords for your niche. In fact, you do not even need a course, because there are a ton of blogs and articles that tell you how to connect keywords basic Google AdWords and Wordtracker or one of the plethora of tools available and come out with purchase of keywords.

And that is fine … but none of them are aimed at local markets or small businesses looking to market online for the first time. Not one course I've seen even mention Google Place or local search engine marketing.

Many people would have you believe that picking great keywords in a local market is no different than picking them up for campaign global or national. They tell you to get the right for a major campaign, then just add modifiers such as your local city or district name.

And if this strategy will definitely work, it will not give you the keywords best possible conditions for your market. How do I know what it is?

Get Best Keywords possible local

It's really simple online marketing 101. The best keywords for your market will come from … your market!

You see, you have an advantage over purely online. The fact you have a business offline means that you have actual clients, you can talk and interact with. You can ask them what they like, why they chose you and not your competitors, and what conditions they look at their research.

And that's exactly where I recommend you start.

You can create Several discussion groups by type of client. For example, a group of loyal customers, one of the customers who spend the most money you and one of the customers who buy your highest costs or better products or services benefit are three places to start.

You these groups get together and ask them some questions to help you build your business. Just tell them you plan to expand your marketing efforts online and you want their help. Then ask them the questions above to begin.

You can save the session (s) … Remember to ask permission first … because once they start talking about you, your products and your company, you probably will not be able to follow if you take notes. You want not only collect your search terms they would use, but the very words they use to describe their problems and the relief of your products provide. This will give you valuable insight into the best keywords at the bottom of your site and your marketing around.

What if I do not have customers Yet?

And if you are a beginner and are not groups of customers like this again, I recommend find a complementary local and asking them if you could interview a few of their customers. For example, if you are an accountant, you might ask a small business lawyer, commercial real estate agent, or a web designer, you know.

Alternatively, you can find places of your customers ideal drag line … their favorite blogs, forums and Facebook groups or LinkedIn … and take notes on the busiest stations. Want know what they say, how they say, and what motivates them. Of course, this latter route is not nearly as well because the people you are profiling not be local to you. But it gives you a place to start to build the best possible list at least keyword.
